N95 Respirators
- Anyone with job duties that require wearing a respirator (no change to the PPE requirement or where you get this)
- Anyone who is unvaccinated
- Certain individuals who are covered by the Cal/OSHA waiver of quarantine/isolation requirements - currently this is certain individuals in the Police Department, and Corp Yard water and sewer divisions.
- Your department will supply them if your job requires it
- Your department may have a supply already
- Your department Safety Coordinator

- Facial hair can interfere with the seal of an N95
- An N95 respirator provides greater protection from COVID-19 than a face covering or mask
- N95s and more protective respirators protect the users from airborne disease, while face coverings primarily protect people around the user
- Someone wearing an N95 when exposed to COVID is not considered a Close Contact
- N95s only work if you wear them properly!
